The Brown-headed Parrot (Poicephalus cryptoxanthus) is a small, green parrot from southeastern Africa, known for its greyish-brown head, bright yellow underwings (visible in flight), and quiet, affectionate nature, making it a popular pet. They are intelligent, playful, and bond strongly with owners, often mimicking household sounds, and are generally less noisy than other parrots, suitable for apartments. In the wild, they inhabit woodlands and savannas, feeding on fruits, nuts, and seeds, and are often seen in pairs or small flocks.
